Gerald and Harold played at recess. Suddenly, Gerald sneezed. It was the biggest, loudest, sneeziest sneeze that Harold ever heard. When his friend finished, he looked over to see what had come out of the other boy’s nose.
The something that came out was gray and wrinkled and squishy. And big. “Is that your brain?” asked Harold.
Harold backed away, looking for his teacher. “But people don’t sneeze out their brains,” he said.
“Oh,” the Thing-Pretending-to-be-Gerald said, “That’s too bad.”
After recess, Gerald sneezed again. Harold sneezed too.
You know how it is. Those things can be contagious.
